Short Hike, Great Views — and a Quiet Sunset Experience
I did the Little Si hike in the evening, and it turned out to be a really good choice if you don’t have much time but still want to get outdoors.
The trail is about 3.7 miles round trip (around 6 km) with roughly 1,300 ft (400 m) of elevation gain. It took me about an hour to get to the top at a steady pace. The path goes through a nice forest, and closer to the top you start getting views of rocky formations and the surrounding area.
I stayed at the top for a bit, had a quick snack, and watched the sunset. On the way down it started getting dark pretty quickly. At one point I thought I was the last person on the trail, but then I heard someone still up near the summit — kind of a strange but interesting moment.
Overall, this is a great hike if you're short on time. Easy access, convenient parking, and solid views without needing to spend half a day. I’d definitely recommend it as a quick escape near Seattle.
