Tolmie Peak Trail is a stunning hike located in the northwest corner of Mount Rainier National Park. The hike is well-loved for its panoramic vistas and the historic Tolmie Peak Fire Lookout at the summit.
The trail begins at Mowich Lake and winds through lush old-growth forests, offering hikers a chance to experience the diverse flora and fauna of the region. As you ascend, the trail opens up to reveal the sparkling waters of Eunice Lake, a perfect spot for a rest or a picnic.
Continuing on, the trail becomes steeper as it approaches the fire lookout. The effort is well worth it, as the lookout provides a 360-degree view of the surrounding peaks and valleys. On clear days, the sight of Mount Rainier towering in the distance is truly awe-inspiring.
